Celebrating You

By Jam Maica

She’s just an ordinary woman at one glance

But let me tell you something about ‘er while I still have the chance

How loving, amazing and wonderful

Ahh words are not enough to describe her in full.

She was born to a couple who lived in a farm

Just finished high school but didn’t lose her charm

Stove to work to help her family

It’s just the beginning…so you see.

At her workplace, she was courted by handsome man

Grabbed her chance for he’s the one

Not long after, they tied the knot

To love forever~oh it’s more than a jackpot.

Three children were born out of their love

Grateful for all the blessings from up above

It wasn’t a smooth journey for many problems came

But those who looked down on them were put to shame.

It brought her tears as she looked back

How difficult it was ’coz they were in lack

These days, it’s a story she proudly shares

To the people she truly cares.

Up to now, she unconditionally renders her service

This time, to my nephews and nieces

Yes, the woman I’m talking about

Is my mother~ who I love all throughout.

As you celebrate your 65th birthday

A blessing that is not for many I must say

We may not have all the things society defines ‘success’

But I believe you’re happy with everything you possess.

And as we honor you especially this year

With full of love I offer you my prayer

Good health and protection through His loving Grace

“Thank you, Ma” I say this with a kiss and a warm embrace.
