It’s Gracy’s birthday and since it’s been a long while that we haven’t met, I wrote a special “poem for best friend”. Before that, of course I’ll tell you first how our “yin-yang” friendship started. Here we go:
High School Buddies
Grace and I met when I was 12, yeah she was 13. Sshhhhhh… so it’s been 24 years that we know each other. It was during our first year in high school. Yeah, we both were in star sections. Ahhh, those days when people always need to be on top. We as students needed to live up to everyone’s expectations. Those days I do find really unhealthy, but then again maybe those moments led me to meet the best friend I ever have.
High School as what we all knew, is a critical moment for all teenagers. Just like all other teenagers, Grace and I encountered silly arguments and wonderful moments together. My friendship with Grace is a real proof of the cliche we always hear “opposite attracts”. I do believe we both knew what I meant with that. However I believe right now we both are pretty happy with our lives. We both are enjoying parenting despite difficulties, and many of these you can see on the “poem for besfriend”.
Authentic Best Friends
Before we became authentically best of friends, we passed through dark tunnels. We fought, yes of course but I don’t remember exactly why. What’s vivid is the memory of how we would patch things up and forgive each other. After a couple of arguments, we found a safe haven among ourselves. We both have proven that we can exchange each other’s thoughts and ideas without prejudice. Not only that, the funny thing is we both knew ahead what’s in each other’s mind. Like right now if she’s reading this, she then eventually will smile and I need not to talk more ‘coz I know she knows!
Finding a person who can function like you makes you think, “oh Genie is true”.
Best Friend
If I am with Grace, sometimes I need not to operate. She does for me! What a relief. The ease I feel when I’m with her gives me moments I will never forget.
Trophy Best friend leads to Poem for Best friend
Since we have been parted for 15 years now, I can only recall all our beautiful and not so pretty moments together. I want to thank my best friend for always being there for me. She definitely is the “trophy best friend”. Thank you Grace for letting me win, and here’s a poem for bestfriend.
I love you, and wishing that we can still have moments together ahead of us. Here’s my birthday present for you. Have a great birthday.
“Hear as I Greet”- Poem for Bestfriend
by : Teriz@Journey4us
Fly…
that cockpit moment.
Nurture…
those little buggers.
Project…
those preggy tummies.
Strive…
to be better mommies.
Feel…
thousand times more than they do.
Laugh…
the whole year through.
Enjoy…
make each moment counts
Smile…
avoid making frowns.
Breathe…
that matters the most.
Glam…
do add some colors.
Celebrate…
the day you were found.
with FAMILY…
we’re always safe and sound.
On your birthday…
hear as I greet.
I’ll hold a dog for you…
when we meet.
