The Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Phnom Penh, Element
Are you in Phnom Penh and looking for an excellent vegetarian restaurant? I will tell you about my latest experience in the newly opened vegetarian restaurant called Element.
I have been living in Cambodia for more than a decade and the hunt for something vegetarian restaurant is always exciting for me. Visiting and trying different restaurants around the city has so far been balancing my busy life. Everytime I visit places, I consider it as a well deserved “Me Time”. Of Course I used to take the kids with me however, the Covid 19 situation always give me a reason to better not. Well, I always take some home for them and Love.😅
Anyway, having deprived myself of a restaurant to dine in for 15 months just like many of you, I decided to take a look at what Element Vegetarian offers. Why did I choose a vegetarian restaurant? It’s not a secret. We all know why, and you can visit WebMD site for more information. To continue here’s my list why I chose Element Vegetarian:
- eating vegetarian meals will help address my gaining weight during Covid19 staying indoors
- vegetables cooked by professional chef just tastes way better
- try to see how I can cook the meals myself at home for my family
- to check how hygienic and safe the place is during Covid19 times
- to check if prices are reasonable
- to gather reliable information for my blog
There we go! Pretty much these were the reasons why I ventured to Element Vegetarian. Now let’s take a look at every single detail of this place after my visit.
Why Element Vegetarian Restaurant is the best for me:
- Hygienic/ Anti Covid19-If you have been reading my blog, you will have an idea why this point is always on my top list. Before Covid19, it seemed that this normally fell to second or third rank. The way we check the hygiene and cleanliness of such places was also to a different degree. Tell me I’m wrong here? Well, in my case I’m certain that my ways have been different. They have been way more detailed and strict. Seeing Element’s place I would say 99/100 for hygiene and cleanliness. The other 1% left was for door handles that are not followed to wipe off by staff after a customer holds it or not. How can we solve it? You can basically prepare wet wipes or tissue sprayed with disinfectant before you hold the door. That if you are as obsessed as me. Element’s hygiene and cleanliness is magnificent. From the walkway to your table, and to the toilet, you can feel and smell how clean the place is. The clean shined tables and counters are also evident. I just love eating in a place where cleanliness is as excellent as their food!
- New Furniture- Element used modern yet minimalistic interior. That for me gives their patrons a peaceful vibe while dining. Being in a harmonic place to eat is such a reward to yourself. As I mentioned a while ago. The restaurant also used excellent quality furniture. There is no fear to loose your balance while you sit, and there’s no presence of any easily movable tables. Once you’ve sat, you’ll feel the comfort straight away. Thanks to their five star quality furniture.
- Unique food ideas – Nobody likes boring food. Do you? If you want to see how unique the food is at Element Restaurant, here’s their full menu. When I went there, I tried the grilled eggplant, their tamarind juice, and their gorgeous Creme Brulee. I have visited vegetarian restaurants and normally what I will see on my bowl or my plate are tons of different colors and are overwhelming to the eyes. They look full but won’t fill you. When I ate the grilled eggplant at Element Vegetarian, I could hardly finish it and I was already full after eating half a bowl of it. Seriously, no joke. I did make sure I was totally hungry before going there and I was shocked that I quickly got full after eating half of the meal. I extended my stay though to make sure I finished my bowl since it tasted extremely delicious. After my meal, I craved for some desserts and then I opted to get Creme Brulee that was made without milk. It was ginger based. How amazing was that? This made my eating venture perfect. Topping everything up with Creme Brulee was the best way to fully enjoy Element Vegetarian. This is according to me. There are other desserts available ofcourse. Check those out too.
- Excellent Quality Crockery and Cutlery- I am quite particular with table needs. Many of us most likely. Holding the perfect size spoon or fork adds pleasure while I eat. The weight of each is also a concern for me. Element Vegetarian restaurant uses the best crockery and cutlery. From perfect sizes and weighted spoon and fork, the stylish bowls and plates for your meal just add up together and give you the best dining experience. I am also a firm believer that food should not only taste great. They should also be presented the best way possible. Food should be treated like a queen. They should be well taken care of. Element does it well!
- Finest food prep and presentation – Details. How do you check details of the food you eat? In my case I checked how each ingredient was cut and placed on my bowl. While eating, I can clearly say that the slicing of each ingredient used for my meal was prepared by a skillful and experienced chef. I really love that the slices of each ingredient were tiny yet they didn’t get mushy. There were different food textures from my meal and that made my eating time more enjoyable. The crunch, the softness, the warmth, the freshness all combined; a beautiful, delicious and healthy meal.
- Reasonable Price– Being healthy doesn’t only require dedication. It comes with a price. Comparing the prices of food from Element Vegetarian to other vegetarian restaurants, I would say that they have reasonable prices. I paid for the grilled eggplant for 5.75$, the Creme Brulee for 3.75$ and the drinks I used my coupon for and so that was free. If you are here in Phnom Penh and you need a free drink coupon, send me a message. Without my coupon, my tamarind juice will cost me 2.5$. Overall, if I have to sum it up, the total value is excellent for me. Eating a healthy meal, in the cleanest place possible, and experiencing a master chef kind of dish for 12$? I can’t complain.
- Friendly Staff- As I aged, checking this criteria anywhere I go is my highest priority. Given the fact that here at Journey4Us, we value harmony, meeting friendly staff is a winner in our case. The courtesy and hospitality of everyone in Element Vegetarian is commendable. They are friendly, polite and English knowledgeable. I will never forget how they made my dining experience beautiful with the way they addressed every concern and request I had. You guys should meet them.
- Family Friendly Place– Of Course I am planning to take my family out soon again. I am very happy to see that Element Vegetarian is a family friendly place. With everything I mentioned above, no other place can be perfect for kids. With healthy dishes, hygienic environment , and friendly staff, there is no better place for families to dine out than Element.
Having restaurants like Element Vegetarian in Phnom Penh is not only good because it serves healthy dishes. It also it gives expats like me another level of dining out experience. Experiences we most likely get from our own countries. I am very privileged to see how Cambodia is growing and improving in this case.
