How to Accept Your Weaknesses- A Motivational Blog

How to accept your weaknesses is a blog that aims to inspire many of us to do so.  Not many people know that admitting your weaknesses is the greatest power you can ever have.

It is not a secret that many of you would normally hear me asking anyone “hey, do you want your stories published at journey4us?”, or maybe ” come’n you have a beautiful story, let’s share it!”.  Many of you normally are a bit in shocked if I will randomly just ask, anyone, anywhere and anyhow.  Luckily, one day, one moment, a dear colleague decided to share her beautiful story.

For today’s blog we are lucky to hear and get motivated and inspired by Jeza Chakiton’s story.  As busy as we are with our daily tasks and responsibilities, I am pretty much honored to know and hear Jeza’s story.  She called her story “Alright…I admit it!”, and after reading it, I decided to come up with simple and practical tips on “How to Accept Your Weaknesses”.

Let’s walk through Jeza’s story today, and I am hoping that you can leave some comments right after.  Or better yet, send us an email if you wish to be our next guest blogger here at journey4us.

Let’s get started with Jeza’s story “Alright…I Admit It!”:

Alright I admit It
Alright I Admit It

I was once a perfectionist in a sense that I assured that no mistakes were noticed by anyone else. Even though I seemed to be like that, the way I assessed myself, yet obvious faults were displayed and criticism bathed me. Not due to lack of readiness rather my incapacity as an individual. I was hysterically mad at myself for why my effort didn’t hit my target as perfectly as I desired like the others who are skillful and evidently talented.

I thought I was a perfectionist. However, it occurred to me that I was just so afraid people would know my limitations and flaws. I was in fear that they would label me given the reality of my imperfections. I wasn’t humble to ADMIT the fact that I was a person who required great improvement so to speak. My mind was full of statements to defend my credibility, but it tainted me. Swallowing my ego and admitting my frailty, I assumed this could uphold me otherwise I would get stagnant and dazed away from success.

Harked back by the inspirational story of noteworthy people like Manny Pacquiao, a man of humility, Thomas Edison, who was never afraid of repeated failures, and Colonel Harland David who never quit amidst successive predicament, made my false perfectionism shattered.Great people aren’t blind of their weaknesses. They ADMITTED their flaws that lead them to flourish in life. They accepted reproof, corrections and improvement even when they’re on top. Weaknesses aren’t keys to nosedive you instead they are keys to motivate you for greater influence. Being talented and having a high IQ has the power to unfold a remarkable range of opportunities. Nonetheless they don’t define success at all. They’re means but to sustain and lead you to thrive on a fulfilling and rewarding position is licensed by character. As one of the quotations I came across, “We Hire Character.”

We Hire Character
We Hire Character

The attitude of ADMITTING your inadequacy drives you to progress ahead faster than failing to accept your insufficiency at work, in a certain organization and other groups.

To clearly expound, the admission of your limits and your blind spots means the willingness to be sharpened by others who have the strengths of your weaknesses.  With that, your weaknesses will dissipate somehow and your boundaries will loosen for progression.

We accept our limits
We accept our limits

Pulling the thorns of egotism in my heart and pushing myself humbly on the ground as an expression of ADMITTING my spots, growth has started in me and my wings are adept to soar by way of not concealing my blotches and revealing them for nonstop improvement.

Aliquid est ponder!

The challenge of ADMITTING your own incapacity and your weaknesses are not an easy decision to make more so a task to do. However, accepting your imperfections elevates your stature that may affect every person around your influence. Receive criticism in meekness regardless either constructive or embarrassing especially from your family, friends and colleagues who are concerned to you. Magnifying the spots hurt. Nevertheless, if you only ADMIT, for sure the result is more than you could ever think of and something to be thankful of for the rest of your life. Is this possible or impossible? It is possible by drawing to someone who is greater than us. In deference, approach His (Jesus) throne of grace, love and possibilities, at that juncture, nothing is impossible. In humility, I admit!

One thing I love most about blogging is the feeling I get with everytime I read each word.  Right after I read Jeza’s story I felt I knew her better and that we have somehow found that sense of connection.  That’s why, with her approval I did ask her if I can come up with some tips on “How to Accept Our Weaknesses” as a way to end this blog.  So here they are, the magic 5 tips that I can personally share to those who are having difficulties accepting their weaknesses.  Do not worry, you are not alone!  This too is a daily challenge for me.  I am hoping that we can all keep reminding ourselves about the beauty of accepting our own imperfections.
